El Chino was a group of Guadalajara-based artists that organized weekly gatherings to make collaborative zines and homemade videos, and to party. The members of the group would each bring a page and rotating editors would determine their sequence in the publication. After the dissolution of the group, the collection of zines and videos were archived in The Chinese Cabinet, made from the large black cases used for the equipment of touring bands. With a chair and television set for viewing the videos and reading the zines, it stands as the archives of this mythical group.
