Listening sessions with Marian Baumann

Faced with the progressive loss of her eyesight, Marian Bauman has developed a special sensitivity for listening to music and diverse narrations. These sessions propose guided hearing exercises with the eyes closed for all audiences.

Marian Baumann (Mexico City, 1940) has been an audiophile since childhood. The daughter of Swiss parents, she worked in a travel agency for many years, travelling widely and getting to know different cultures. For 12 years, she studied piano with a Hungarian teacher, a disciple of Franz Liszt, which allowed her to practice and give concerts.

This workshop is part of the project School of Aging by Ana Gallardo. The artist invites the public to reflect on and pose questions about senior people. In this way she enters into a dialogue with retired people where she learns from their skills by gardening, singing, dancing, among other activities.
