Talks with Samantha Flores

Samantha Flores is a trans activist and the president of the Laetus Vitae A.C. She will talk to Ana Gallardo about her project of a shelter house for LGBT+ elders and the challenges and discrimination she faces.

Samantha Flores (Orizaba, Veracruz, 1932) is a trans activist who has been striving for the rights of the LGBT+ and HIV+ communities for 22 years. Since 2012 she presides over the civil association Laetus Vitae, now devoted to achieve her biggest dream: the first free shelter house for LGBT+ senior citizens in Mexico and the world.

This workshop is part of the project School of Aging by Ana Gallardo. The artist invites the public to reflect on and pose questions about senior people. In this way she enters into a dialogue with retired people where she learns from their skills by gardening, singing, dancing, among other activities.
