Fundación Jumex Arte Contemporáneo was formally established on March 3, 2001 when Colección Jumex was exhibited for the first time at the Galería Jumex in Ecatepec.

Through its exhibitions and public programs, Museo Jumex aspire to become a relevant institution in the field of art. This is achieved through the production (and co-production with other institutions) of exhibitions and research projects that bring contemporary art practices closer to diverse audiences.

Fundación Jumex Arte Contemporáneo’s Grants & Scholarships program provides funding to individuals and institutions involved in contemporary art production, promotion and research.

The foundation’s library is one of the most extensive libraries in Mexico devoted to the research and study of modern and contemporary art.

Peter Fischli, David Weiss. Untitled, 2008 - 2009. La Colección Jumex

Peter Fischli and David Weiss produced works that range from photography to installation and sculpture. In this work, both artists represent themselves as a rat and a bear laying on top of a blanket. We propose the following activity:

What you need:

Your clothes
More clothes!
A portable or cellphone camera

Steps:

Step One

Select your favorite set of clothes and fill it up with more clothes.

Step Two

Using the volume generated with your clothes, try to make the sculpture resemble you in shape.

Step Three

Make this activity with your family and try to recreate a scene with the clothes sculptures. They can be laying down, seated on the sofa watching television or ready to eat at the table.

Step Four

Take a photo of the finished scene.
