Metal and plastic
202 x 362 x 202 cm
A trained architect, Pedro Reyes incorporates his knowledge of the built environment and design into his sculptures, often taking methods or materials from the vernacular. These complex hanging structures are made using plastic string over a metallic base in shapes alluding to certain mathematical principles like the Klein bottle or Möbius strip, both examples of non–orientable surfaces. Their transparency and lightness contrasts with the bodies that can inhabit them.
