Richard Misrach captures a military base that was used for the first American space shuttle landings back in the early 1980’s. People from all around the country came in their Winnebagos and campers to watch the shuttle glide back to earth. The military put out “porta-potty” toilets and garbage bins, referring to them as “comfort stations,” for visitors to use.
