New Decor was filmed by the artist in a Los Angeles furniture store. Using the existing shop displays as television sets, customers were invited to play out scenes of their lives as if in a telenovela. Often seemingly troubled and distraught, the camera’s attention provokes these people into becoming characters, where the line between their real lives and fantasies becomes indistinct.
