Philippe Hernández
Philippe Hernández. Modelo, 1999. La Colección Jumex

The sculpture by Philippe Hernández consists of a tower of beer cans of the Modelo brand. The artist uses them to evoke the models and stone sculptures that are considered beauty references.

Have you ever given any thought to the names of the brands we consume?

We propose the following:

  • Food from different brands that you find in your kitchen. You can use the amount you want!
  • Colored pencils, crayons, or markers
  • Paper
Step One
ui/arrows/down Created with Sketch.
Gather the foods of different brands that you found in your kitchen.
Step Two

Think about the brand names of each of these foods, and if they remind you of something else.
Step Three

For each brand that makes you think of something else, draw a picture that represents what that name reminds you of.

Remember: Brands are words that refer us to other objects, to a moment in our lives, or even to other food, don’t forget to include it in your drawings!

We would love to see your drawings! Share them with us by tagging us on Facebook: Fundación Jumex Arte Contemporáneo or Instagram: @museojumex
