WORKSHOP: ANALYSIS AND PRODUCTION OF PHOTOGRAPHY AS DOCUMENTATION
This workshop will offer an analysis of the use of photography and other documentary resources by artists throughout history, be it for the production of artistic images or to reinterpret archival documents artistically. Each session will focus on the creative strategies of authors such as Bernd and Hilla Becher, Cindy Sherman, Joseph Kosuth, Edward Ruscha, Jeff Wall, Bas Jan Ader, Robert Barry, Keith Arnatt, Sophie Calle, Gordon Matta-Clark, Oscar Bony, León Ferrari, Santiago Sierra, Gabriel Orozco, Antoni Muntadas, among others. Participants will engage in photographic experiments based on the strategies analyzed, addressing categories such as: storytelling and narrativity, play and rules, repetition and difference, visibility and performativity, documentation and fiction.
