Spanning the political, social and emotional, Ilán Lieberman reflects upon the ever present issue of disappearances throughout Mexico. The artist meticulously reproduces the portraits of children who have disappeared in Primeros 25 Dibujos de la serie “Niño Perdido” [First 25 drawings of the “Lost Boy” series], and in doing so attempts to recover the faces and memory of those who tend to be rapidly forgotten by society. Lieberman forces a confrontation with particular faces, approaching the specific stories of each missing child in an act of resistance that has the potential to inspire dialogue, thought and even collective action.
