Todd Eberle, mostly an editorial and architecture photographer, lends his keen eye to this series of works where he photographs masterpieces from Jasper Johns, Robert Rauschenberg, and Cy Twombly, all artists who challenged the conventions of painting. In his close-up photograph of Johns’ Target with Four Faces, 1955, Eberle reveals the amount of wax buildup on the surface, achieved by lighting the work dramatically.
