Drawing on how the art world engages with economic systems, Mario García Torres explores the workings of the marketplace through which art is bought, sold, traded and gifted. The artist investigated and at times even helped locate missing pieces from Californian artist Ed Ruscha’s catalog; many of which have gone untracked because they left behind no economic transactional trace. García Torres reassesses art history by placing canvases representing each vanished Ruscha artwork on opposing walls depending on whether they remain lost or have subsequently been located.
