SUPERFLEX: The Corrupt Show and the Speculative Machine
Patrick Charpenel, Daniel McClean, Superflex

SUPERFLEX (Jakob Fenger, Rasmus Nielsen, Bjørnstjerne Christiansen) is an artist group that intervenes within very specific fields of social action so as to impact upon the power structures that define the current hyper-capitalist economic system, an unstable system that holds speculation and corruption at its core. Whilst engaging with the raw machinery of hyper-capitalism, SUPERFLEX’s artworks, which they describe as working “tools” for citizens to use, suggest possible ways for the radical transformation of the system. This publication provides detailed descriptions of such “tools,” an essay co-written by Patrick Charpenel and Daniel McClean, as well as a section dedicated to the reflection (speculation) upon social and political themes relevant in the context of economic globalization.

This book was published in conjunction with SUPERFLEX/The Corrupt Show and the Speculative Machine, a survey exhibition held at the Galería Jumex Ecatepec, curated by Patrick Charpenel and Daniel McClean.
