Traversing The Collection Activities

During the 1960s, many artists used image reproductions and commodity objects to produce their artworks. This artistic decision derived in providing the object with other definitions and generating different reflections on it. Additionally, the viewer became an active participant, since he contributes to the generation of meaning of the object as well. Have you considered that the box of your favorite cereal or your bed could be an artwork? What would make us see these objects as artworks and not as the objects they are?

Through some of the artworks that make up Re-create, a selection of La Colección Jumex by Cindy Peña, we propose activities in which we explore the possibilities of objects as works of art.
