The drawings, paintings and radical assemblages of Richard Tuttle constantly challenge the classifications between these genres. His Constructed paintings go beyond the limits of the canvas and include materials not typically used for painting. This work is part of a series made with small red clay tiles. The additional elements included copper, silicon, and wire, each version pushing forth the limits of the canvas and frame.
