Damián Ortega began his artistic practice at age 16 as a cartoonist for a local magazine. He is most known for his sculptural works that frequently suspend or extend time. Ortega’s interests also span to graphic representations as pictorial languages he tries to reconstruct in physical space. In Coliseum: Diagram of Time, Ortega represents each 5 minutes of a soccer game with concrete slabs of different tonalities. The artist found the diagram in a book and was interested in how each piece shows a reaction by the crowd.
