Michel François captures the mundane moments, discarded objects and simple things that populate our daily lives. Since the early 1980s he has been exploring a variety of media including installation, video, sculpture and photography. Through these different techniques he documents the trivial and banal and presents it anew, recycling discarded materials and reframing them as artworks. His works remain purposefully ambiguous and open-ended, testament to his conviction that things draw their meaning in relation to others, both in everyday existence and in an exhibition space.
