For the creation of this series, Orozco calculated the different possible variations by computer and drawing software of a configuration of circles that he painted from a single point in the center. The artist followed the movement in the game of chess called the ‘knight’s move’ to paint the various sections of the painting. The final composition of each variation is like an expanded chessboard, the diagram of an organization that evolves over time. After the series of more than 600 variations, he developed and varied this technique in many different objects. Later, the system has changed and adapted, for example, in the wooden blocks of the Troncos of 2008-2009 series.
