From the earliest moments his career, Orozco has explored the possibilities of alteration in the notions of space and time through the creation of systems and the regular trips that the artist has made, without a fixed studio, during his life. The Working Table series displays Orozco’s long-standing practice of generating arrangements with elements that are incorporated in his work, including leftovers, trial pieces, models and found objects among other things. He makes them after about a ten-year period of living in a particular place. Among these are references, visual supports or simply fortuitous encounters with objects collected in different parts of the world. This series accompanies the artist’s interest in collecting and recycling as part of his sculptural practice. The museum shows two pieces from this series: the first one made in Tokyo between 2015 and 2023, and a second table that displays his most recent processes.
