Orozco made a series of collages called Eroded Suizeki, in which he works with the idea of natural erosion through time. In Japanese culture, suizeki are intricately shaped stones mounted on a wooden base. These elements traditionally invite philosophical contemplation, as they demonstrate the effects of the environment on an object. Orozco further erodes this image by cutting, detaching and reassembling it using a cutting compass, an instrument used to make perfect circles.
