Opening Lecture: Peter Fischli David Weiss: How to Work Better
Nat Trotman, curator of the exhibition Peter Fischli David Weiss: How To Work Better inquires into the extensive collaboration between Peter Fischli and David Weiss. As a result of such collaboration, the artists created hundreds of pieces in different genres, including photography, sculpture, cinema, video, and installation art. The lecture explores recurrent issues in their work, including their complex relationship with the notion of time, work, and play, as well as the use of everyday objects, the fascination with encyclopedic archives, and the dual interest in psychedelia and pop culture. During this revision, Trotman reflects on the dialogues that Fischli and Weiss held during more than thirty years of collaboration.
