Mike Bidlo is known for his appropriation of works by canonical painters such as Picasso, Pollock, and Warhol, questioning the value of the original and the role of authorship. In Campbell’s Cheddar Cheese Soupcan, 1984, Bidlo copies Warhol’s work exactly, except he does it by hand instead of using the silkscreen process, but retaining the original dimensions of Warhol’s canvases.
