Gabriel Orozco interacts with time as a force capable of materially transforming, eroding and accelerating his artistic processes. The artist uses malleable materials, such as plasticine, to create various pieces. Plasticine was invented in the industrial era in Germany and allowed sculptors to work in times of extreme cold, as it is a material that does not dry out or harden. In works such as Yielding Stone and 840 lbs Net Black Plasticine, the plasticine is molded by body pressure or exposure to the environment, including elements that accidentally modify or adhere to the object.
